I previously used the Sanford Guide gold app. It was ok, but not exactly a very user friendly app. When my subscription expired, I switched over to this new app. The subscription for iPhones costs $29.99, significantly more expensive than the good old reliable paper version. I plunked down my money for the convenience factor and clicked the subscribe button. After entering my iTunes credentials, it goes into an endless “Verifying” stage. I left it in this stage for over an hour and I still haven’t gotten through to the end. I have received a confirmation from Apple that my subscription order was completed. However, I cannot access the information that I have paid for. I have tried multiple times on multiple devices. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled. No luck. The Sanford Guide is a good guide in paper format but they haven’t figured out how to adapt it to modern technology. this would be ok if the program actually worked after you paid your $30. STAY AWAY until fixed!!
This is an indispensable resource for any physician. It has never steered me wrong in the treatment of an infection.
So disappointed. Having had the book for a number of years as a resident and faculty, the app is so problematic. You have to buy the app to have anything useful - $29.99 and renew yearly. REALLY!? The value is completely lost. Given the multitude of other options for looking up antimicrobial treatment, the Sanford guide is (sadly) no longer on my list of resources, and as an ID specialist at a large academic medical center, I do NOT recommend this for my residents and students. Greed was clearly the business model.
This is NOT free. does cost 30$. maybe annually but not sure yet. my paper copy lasts years. Think it is wrong to say it is free (which didnt sound right but worth looking into). think it should be cheaper as it looks to be an annual thing.
This App was in Free section ofApp store but when you try to use it, they want you to subscribe it.
Best of the best. Great for id rounds and daily rounds with med team. The doses are on point awesome dose adjustments table available. I love that u can search easily thru their system. Worth every penny
Great App Highly recommend
Great resource
While all products could be tweaked, and ease of search and various medical Dz - Rx flow isnt always as easy as I would like....strongly recommend for the novice practioner as well as the experienced provider.
Use daily in practice, much easier to use than the book. Updated regularly. No problems with shutdowns or freezes.
....as modern technology permits! Fast, smooth, authoritative, no silly sign-in or other in-app baloney such as Omnio and others. If you are a prescriber, you should have this brilliant app.
Everything I hoped it would be - as good or even better than the book, except easier to always have with you. Use it every day in practice! #Antimicrobial Stewardship #Pharmacists
This is my go to for prescribing antibiotic therapy.
Very concise and up to date
The content is fantastic. But the App Store description is misleading. The "interface" is free, but the content is $29.99 per year. You think you are paying for the app initially when you download it, but then you have to make an "in-app purchase" of the content. Really?? You couldnt just buy it like every other app??
Vast amount of information which is easily accessible. Very quick and good search function. Highly recommend .
Loved it until I got a new phone. Then it required another $ 30 purchase. I understood I wouldnt get an update but expected a usable app like most other offers out there. I guess Ill stay with the free versions out there instead. :(
Love the appbyt hate updating the updates fail a lot and sometimes require total deletion reinstallation to obtain update
Easy to access data Wish it could contain more detail about disease conditions
